The New Rage

It was an exam eve. I went to a stationary shop to meet my small exam requirements -pens. The shop was small n owned by a middle class man.It was crowded,I asked him politely  to show me his pen collections. He was busy satisfying other customers' needs.I waited patiently. After about five minutes, he showed me some. I tried to figure out how the pen works .He  BARKED :"You do not have to waste the ink. If you don't want this one , leave it." I was terrified. This is certainly not the pragmatic way to treat a customer.

Period.
okay, okay I am getting into behaviour mechanisms or so; this tym  i am  hitting the  enigma of  today's commerce. This generation's shopping is all about malls, marts and online meagastores. Fondly addressing them as NGC(New Gen commerce).NGC has struck a chord with me.They do have the requisite dexterity to make shopping a delightful experience for a non shopping lover like me.The most intriguing part of NGC is they give u enormous space to pick your products, guage ur savings, time to understand if this particular product suffice ur agenda,go through all the technical specifications or any manufacturing details   .U do not have to suffocate under the penetrating gaze of a shopkeeper while going on in an expedition with ur product .You can explore apparels taking ur own time, no body is going is to make "crying face" if you come up with an empty cart.Unlike our sks(shopkeepers),NGC don't make u feel like a criminal or bastard if u r out on a window shopping.U dont have to confront any hawk or eagle eyes. Here, you are master of your own choice.u purchase goods bcoz u really want to n not under any incessant request to view a new product or any such compulsion.

Am not really against conventional SKs or so.No hard feelings for them. All I want is , as scriptures say" Consumers shud always be the king".If it not so, there is something wrong in the working strata.Business dealing with public has no room for real emotions, it is purely based on superficial business etiquette .I didn't go into who is selling better or so.Because sometimes it is all about the  civility and social grace that matters the most.

A page from my diary

We all have our dreams, we all have our plans to execute our dreams and plans of doing stuffs after we reach our dreams.

Entrepreneur- a position where I just  dream to reach and keep planning  what should I do when (if I ever) become one..

This thought crosses my head a lot of times- how would i be managing people? how would i be administrating them? what would be my stratergy? who will be whose boss? would it be just qualifications that will seggregate or there is room for people with passion? Would logic take a back seat while front seat is occupied by savviness .
Would qualification be the the boss of all? With too much thinking and thinking, I formed a simple mantra:
If you have logic or qualification  to do a certain work, you are the boss; if you have requisite  passion to do a certain work, you are the boss otherwise I am the boss!

So called Teachers..

I looked at my  watch. It showed two.Teacher entered in the class with an expression of a sadist. The lecturer started the class in a certain pitch and tone (read baritone)  .I tried to concentrate on what was being taught..she read a line from the book and then narrated  to us by just using synonyms of the words used in book. This continued for long, I looked at my watch again , it was 2:10..ahh!Although it seemed like hours have gone by but  its  just ten minutes..I yawned (involuntarily ).The lecture continued in the same tone and expression. I feel plagued by the sight of" moving lips."

Arindham Chaudhari says :" The fault is in the teacher if a student falls asleep in the class".Few years back i used to consider it to be a purely noob's statement .But Now, I believe if more than 20% of the class is sleeping then certainly it is the teacher's fault. For me a teacher is one who can mark an imprint of knowledge on anyone's mind. He should have the capability of making ppl his believer. He should posses the caliber to enrapture ppl in his words, ideas
.Okay, I agree that is the definition of a perfect teacher, not being a perfect student i don't expect every teacher to be this idealistic. I only beg them to not be a verbal textbook. For me, It is not less than a scandal to ruin someone's intrest from a subject due to their incoherent skills of teaching .Teaching is a sacred profession .In Indian culture, a teacher is considerd to be a manifestation of divine .It is no less than a crime to give a bad( read boring) name to it.

A 2 minute normal chattery  or  a joke  or qouting  a great personalty or citing a live example related to the topic can bring so much liveliness in the topic..even modulating voice while giving lecture can create more attentive environment. Its just these small 2 minute things that classifies them into "so called teachers" or  teachers".

Is the glass still half empty?

OMGGGGGGGs.....SHIT! SHIT! SHIT! ....WTF! WTF! WTF!....No wonder these words are frequently being used in our conversations...and has been a part and parcel of our language(in use)...The kind of stressful lifestyle we lead today,it is very common to have such words echoeing in our ears...I often see youngsters working out for long hours in gyms to have a fit and perfect body...that makes me ponder have we ever thought- how fit and fine our MIND is?
Why stress is engulfing us? why is this deadly six letter  word contaminating our pure mind? Why are we sinking into this lifestyle?
The answer i feel to these questions is --the lack of"optimism".....that is the lack of positive thinking....the lack of thinking good about anything...the lack of thinking only the cons and not the pros of anything......Everything in this world has its merits and demerits...it is PERCEPTION that matters....i.e. how we look at the things  in life....ask yourself what u will call a glass filled upto half length.OLD question ,but give it a try again..half empty or half filled.....entirely depends on u
The world is still very beautiful...u jus tneed to look at the +ve things..things will change for the better...trust me..keep smiling....
 u....

The act of Seniorhood!

As the new session started my entire batch was very enthusiastic not only about the fact that we are entering new branch but the main enthusiasm was of becoming a senior, I really don't  understand what pleasure ppl get on being called "sir " or "ma'am".To me, these are just words of addressing someone .Commanding respect and forcefully attaining respect are two very different things.I firmly believe that going to college is a huge step depicting a transition to the new phase of life. The experience should be more confiding like sharing homesickness pangs, heartaches, laughing about professors or inside jokes...It should be a bonding so informal or chatty like conversations over a cup of coffee. The senior -junior relationship belong "on paper", In deep reality, it is  the group of people working together in the same fraternity ,finding a place in adulthood.

SJ

Although being such a spoilt brat, i make sure that on sundays, i am out of bed before 10 in the morning , i make sure that i am all set to watch Satyameva Jayate at 11 :00.

11-12:30 the only time when i feel the tv stops being the idiot box. that is because of Satyamev Jayate and yeah because of Aamir.the work Aamir is doing is totally stunning. He is trying to create awareness about the major social issues faced by different sections of society. He is using his star powers to showcase social ills and possible remedies. and, i think that itself is sufficient to say "wow" to Aamir.

But some people including the famous Pritish Nandy ridicule him by saying -Aamir is a voyeur, not a reformist. He presents the problem and then steps back, expecting the political system to repair it.

But i choose to disagree. His show is not only about propaganda of social evils , it is also about reforms .let me support my view with an example, in "child abuse " a special workshop was carried at the end of episode which was based on the prevention measures which should be adopted by kids and parents.
So, Aamir is doing his bit to bring a reform in the society, he is not at all stepping back instead in his episodes every problem is backed with  solutions.
Moreove, His episodes have created remarkable changes not only in the perception  of many people about these social ills but also has brought some great social reforms .For example-After the broadcast of "medical condition in india" episode chhattisgarh government  has claimed that generic medicines will be available in all government run medicine shop soon. Aamir is a reformist. He has brought some good changes. This is revolutionary and should be appreciated.

I think some people are really obsessed in finding faults in something good happening because they are so jealous and insecure among themselves that they cannot see something good happening.I want Aamir to make his next episode on such people. They are no less than evils. And yeah, they are social. So, social evils!
